I've had many ask about the pies I posted on the 4th. So here's the recipe I follow to make those beautiful pies. I always double it for the family. Easy and Delicious! Works with any type of berries you love. ENJOY!
You don't need me to tell you how crazy it's been. We've all been living it the last few months and yes crazy it has been! I'm just here praying for peace. Putting it in God's hands and trying to understand it all. Yep, lots of reasons for continued creating to calm my mind. It works...FOR SURE!
So a little update on the home front (cabin front), as I'm writing this we have been let out here in Michigan, with masks of course. I even went shopping at Hobby Lobby today. Oh boy did I get some goodies. Before I left to go shopping we found out that as of Monday Darren (aka Mr. Bandt) is "officially" back to work. When I heard I started crying (yeah I know...crazy, right?) it really hit me that I will miss him not being here everyday with me and the kids. Although the world has been crazy it's been so nice to have us together. I often wonder how I'll look back on this time. Will I remember it as depressing or some of the best times of my life? How will you remember it? I do know that if I even watch 1/2 an hour of the news I struggle with getting in my planner brain and it makes me anxious for the future. Yeah I know I'm not suppose to worry. It's something I struggle with often. I think it has to do with being a mom of eight and feeling like the world needs to be right for their future. Again I hear y'all saying let go and give it to God.
So let's get down to business babes. I am so excited to have added stencil making with my New IKONART Stencil Maker and Magnolia Design Co to the mix. I will say I'm loving both. I used to have the Stencil Maker and used it a bit before we moved, but sold mine when I closed our Studio. It's a funny thing, when we closed our brick and mortar studio I was pretty burnt out and thought I would do something different once we move. Yeah, that didn't last long. I will always be grateful that the COVID crazy lead me back to making. It really does help to focus on starting on a project and making something pretty; but now my itch is getting bigger. I want to build my business again and that's what I plan to do. Making & Selling and Helping others do the same!
If you find yourself in that place where you need more and you love to make and craft, you should consider getting an IKONART Stencil Maker or join Magnolia Design Co where you can get a discount and build a business with other creators....or do both, like me. I'll be right here cheering you on and helping you in any way I can. And as someone recently reminded me, we create because God created, for us makers it's our way to give back to God by using the talents he gave us. If you have any questions about either company just give me a shout.
So if you love to craft, make, diy and haven't made anything lately stop looking at all the Pinterest pins you want to do and go do it! Trust me you will feel better...I know I do!
Thanks for listening...I mean reading xoxo
It's been six months since we moved here to the little cabin in the woods on the shores of Lake Michigan. Moving from a four bedroom house with a 4 car garage in the city to this 1060 sq. ft. cabin with no garage 9 people, a dog and a cat sounds pretty much insane, right? Well, it is a little crazy but it's been amazing. Honestly, I wasn't sure how it was going to work with all of us in such a small space. The girls have a room, the boys have a large loft and we have our own little nest of a bedroom with my "studio" slash "desk" slash "office" and it's wonderful, most of the time. We all do get "cabin fever" every now and then and that's where the outdoors and the Lake are there to save us.
When we moved we got rid of 90% of what we had. We even got rid of most of our clothes only keeping about a week of outfits for everyone; knowing that we didn't have any room for dressers and limited closet space. We are learning to be more organized, but that's so much easier to do with less stuff. I remember thinking, "Where in the world am I going to keep towels". We had no place for towels. We do, Thankfully, have have two bathrooms. One with a tub the other with a shower, but no storage space to speak of and no linen closet. But we made it work, all thanks goes to my mom for suggesting a shoe organizer. Funny but it works...
So all in all it's been really nice. I can honestly say that there's just something really special about West Michigan and this area. We are only about 20 minutes south of Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Which, if it wasn't for the COVID, would be fully open with many out of town visitors and vacationers. I'm not sure what it'll be like here once all the "tourists" start coming. I'm hoping that all of that will start soon. I can't even imagine what will happen with all the businesses around us if they don't get their influx of out of town business that they usually depend on. It's been a bit strange with all the virus craziness. I spent many days depressed and somewhat fearful of all the uncertainty, as I'm sure any of you can relate to. It's been nice to have Darren (Mr. Bandt) home with us through our state "Stay Safe" order. Through all of this I found that I really missed being crafty and I am feeling much more myself since I joined on with a new craft company. I'm being creative again and it's so therapeutic.

As I write this blog post we are still in "lock down" here in Michigan which isn't really that bad, because of this Awesome little cabin in the woods on the shores of Lake Michigan!
